Starting July 1st, we will be going through a massive list of quick drop pages we have amassed. Accounts will be permanently closed on-sight if the quick drop pages are still active. Requests to be reinstated will be ignored. Credits will be permanently lost.

Our golden rule at Entrecard is to preserve the quality of our network. As stated in our Terms of Service, we respect the right to remove any account we feel is de-valuing the network. Collectively, everyone operating a quick drop page is devaluing the network by providing an incentive to drop on their quick loading widget-only page. Members are bookmarking 300 of these pages in an attempt to earn credits quickly and efficiently, without actually visiting the blogs in question. This itself constitutes illegal dropping. So not only are quick drop pages now illegal, but our drop-penalty gear may begin inflicting stiff credit penalties, starting July 1, on people dropping on quick drop pages.

Make sure any widget you drop on is located on a regular blog.

The Daihatsu Sirion is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu since 1998 and marketed vairously as the Daihatsu Storia , Daihatsu Boon, Toyota Duet and ToyotaPasso.

The Sirion was launched in 1998 and has since undergone two upgrades, one in 2001 and another in 2004/2005. The version of the Sirion on sale in Europe and Australia in 2005 was first released in Japan in June 2004 under the names Daihatsu Boon and Toyota Passo.

But when it comes to mobile devices and other non-PC platforms, Flash is an also-ran. One reason for that situation, according to Adobe, is the lack of good development tools and the company’s own restrictive licensing.

On April 30, 2008 Sony Ericsson announced its new Project Capuchin technology which is a Java ME API that defines a bridge between the Java ME and Adobe Flash Lite programming environments. This API makes it possible to use Flash Lite as the front end and Java ME as the back end of applications, meaning that Flash tools can be used for UI design while still having access to all the phone services available to Java ME.

Project Capuchin allows developers to combine the richness of both Java ME and Flash Lite by encapsulating Flash Lite content in Java ME applications making content created by Adobe Flash technology appear as Java ME applications. Project Capuchin empowers these two distinct developer communities to leverage their respective expertise to quickly and securely create highly engaging mobile content.

Project Capuchin is a bridging technology between Java ME and Flash Lite making it possible to take advantage of Flash’s strengths in fast UI deployment and well established designer tools, meanwhile Java’s strengths are in services, security and a well developed distribution infrastructure. Project Capuchin makes it possible to create Java applications where some or all UI components are defined in Flash Lite and where all services can be accessed through Java.

Project Capuchin is proprietary Sony Ericsson technology and will be made available for developers to use for free during the second of half of 2008.

What’s a DVR?

DVRs are digital video recorders, and they record TV to a hard drive. TiVos are DVRs, but not all DVRs have TiVo functionality.

Cable DVR or TiVo?

The cable company DVR is cheaper, but isn’t as easy to use as TiVo. TiVo also has cool extras like digital photo viewing and music streaming.

What’s Blu-ray?

Blu-ray is Sony’s high-def DVD technology that lets you record HD shows to DVD. But it’s new, relatively untested, and expensive.

Trust me, I’ve learned my lesson, so now I look for thin bags that fit exactly what I need when I need it. That may be why I’m attracted to laptop sleeves with shoulder straps or handles. I recently highlighted three brightly colored laptop bags that won’t weigh you down this spring, and just today, I spotted yet another cute sleeve over at GeekSugar I just had to include in my list.

When it comes to laptop bags, simple is better, and I don’t think you can find anything as simple as the Knomo laptop brief. Kolobags says the quilted bag weighs in at just over 10 ounces, but it’s padded interior is thick enough inside to protect your laptop. It features a three-quarter zipper around its full hide leather top, and a retractable padded handle so you can carry it when you travel.

For your protection, the bag also has a ID tag inside, and an international phone number people can call if your bag is ever lost. Once you register your laptop bag, you’ll be assigned a unique tracking number so the bag can be traced back to you if it’s ever lost. The Knomo laptop bag is available in red, blue, yellow, and taupe so you have plenty of reasons to stay away from black.

At about 10:30 a.m. this morning—which happens to be launch day for perhaps the biggest gaming title this year—I sauntered into my local GameStop here in downtown Brooklyn, where I found a line of about eight middle-aged, professional-looking gamers, all clearly making a pit stop on their way to work. From the looks of things, plenty of copies of GTA IV were on hand, and no one was going home unhappy.

But as quickly as the line was moving, I wasn’t quite satisfied, so I went next door to Radio Shack—completely empty, and no shortage of Grand Theft Auto IV. In about five minutes, I was all rung up and out the door. And bear in mind, this is what some news outlets are calling the biggest gaming release ever.

Even better, I got an unexpected bonus: a $10 gift card for each GTA game I bought (I got both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions). No, you can’t apply the gift cards to the cost of the game—drats—but hey, I’ll take it.

Anyway, my buying experience today just reinforced my belief that video game pre-orders are pointless—well, pointless for everyone except the retailers, who get to pocket a few of our dollars months in advance. The next time a clerk at GameStop tries to push a pre-order on me, I plan on unapologetically laughing in his or her face.

So, I’m curious—anyone here having trouble getting a copy of GTA IV? Who out there pre-ordered the game, and how long ago? Anyone else ready to join me in my pre-order boycott?
